Charles Manson was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on November 12, 1934. His mom was Kathleen Maddox she had him at the age of 16 , she was both a prostitute and a alcoholic. Kathleen married a man named William Manson but their marriage didn't last long. His mom really didn't want him so she sent him to an all boys school. When he was a teen, he started committing crimes and was in jail for a few times. In 1955, Charles married with a 17-year-old girl and they moved to California. When she was pregnant, Charles started his old life of crime and started stealing cars. In 1956, his wife left him while he was in jail. Then he had another kid with another woman while on probation. He was finally released on March 21, 1967.
Charles Manson got his rise to fame by the Sharon Tate murders. Although he never killed anyone, he did instruct his followers to kill everyone inside the house. The most gruesome murder that his follower, Susan Atkins, did was kill Sharon Tate's unborn baby and then her. There were approximately about 3-4 people in that house that ended up being victims of Charles Manson. He was convicted in 1971 and sentenced to life in prison. Now, a woman named Afton Burton plans on marrying Charles Manson and in November they got a marriage license.
I think that following other people is bad because they can make you do things that are bad and illegal sometimes it may make you end up in jail. Throughout history there have been many incidents where someone followed someone else and they ended up dead or in jail or punished. In some cases it is good to follow someone if they have good intentions. You shouldn't end up brainwashed or doing something you don't want to do because someone told you to.
